Ascend Church Podcast

Part 1/2 - Why are we supposed to find joy in the trials we experience? Because God uses them to grow us! God dignifies our suffering by using it to produce in us faithful endurance. Listen to hear exactly how.

It is absolutely common to experience discouragement as a Christian, especially when we see fellow Christians suffer. In this portion of Ephesians the apostle Paul writes to the Christians in Ephesus telling them not to be discouraged that he is in prison but to be encouraged because God's will cannot be thwarted. Listen as Pastor Garth explains the reasons why we should not be discouraged as Christians even when our fellow Christians suffer.

Jesus Christ is the only one who can unite those from every corner of the world. Regardless of gender, skin color, economic situation, Christ unites all in himself through his death and resurrection. Listen to hear the fullness of this wonderful truth from Ephesians 2:11-22.

A beautiful truth of God is that he has brought us from being dead in sin to being alive in Christ. Pastor Garth explains what this means and what we are to do now that we are alive in this week's sermon.

One way to improve our prayer lives is to pray the prayers of the Bible. In this message Pastor Garth takes us through a pastoral prayer from Paul and brings to light the things we ought to pray for.

The bible describes Christians as those who have gone from death to life through Jesus Christ. Romans 6:1-14 explains to us how the death and resurrection of Christ converge to give believers salvation and how christians ought to respond to the truth that they are now walking in newness of life.

In this message Pastor Garth shows how Jesus Christ fulfills every prophesy made of the Messiah in Isaiah 53, which was written 700 year prior to the birth of Christ.
